Artist Statement

I paint in order to show my personal impressions, emotions and everyday experiences that make us who we are. I achieve this through painting unusual figures with big, soulful eyes rendered with acrylic, charcoal on canvas and paper, to show the beauty and complex nature of life. I find joy in beginning a painting with no idea in mind, letting my brush caress the canvas as dripping colours flow on their own. At some point, in the dance of sketching or layering paint, the idea emerges, revealing its form, and I follow where it leads. I want people to see themselves in my work, feel something real, and to connect in their own way.
